Objective: Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Writer will be responsible for the effective performance of miscellaneous administrative duties and customer service functions with the Service Department as well as direct assistance for the Service Manager.

Essential Functions:

· Provide friendly and informative customer service for customers.

· Provide clerical assist to support the Service Manager with work order write ups.

· Maintain a call log and follow up with customers following repairs.

· Inform the Service Manager and Technicians of Part(s) backorders and estimated times of arrivals.

· Effectively keep customers updated on the repair status of their equipment while in the shop.

· Maintaining effective communication between the Parts and Service Departments.

· Contact customers when PIP’s are available for their equipment.

· Maintain a log of customer’s equipment warranty expiration and contact the customer before the warranty expires.

· Maintain a log of declined repairs in season and follow up with customers in the off season for potential winter work.

· Assist the Sales Department with scheduling trucking routes and equipment deliveries.

· Closing work orders by receiving payment from customers.

· Submitting warranty tickets to the internal warranty department.

· Accepting and tagging incoming equipment.

· Assist the Service Manager with workflow of the Service Department

· Complete all additional tasks required by the Service Manager, as needed.

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

· Demonstrated ability in customer service and development.

· Ability to life 50 pounds.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, twist, balance and climb as needed.

· Agricultural knowledge/experience is an asset.

Competency:

· Ability to produce accurate and thorough work.

· Capacity to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
