Position Summary: Reporting to the Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Driver will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans for equipment transportation on behalf of the company.

Essential Functions:

The Heavy Equipment Driver will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans for equipment transportation and provide shop porter support as assigned by Service Manager.

  • Load equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Transport equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Establish a planned route to insure the most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Perform routine pre/post trip inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor.
  • Ensure equipment is delivered to customer clean and without cosmetic defects.
  • Maintain safe and defensive driving practices.
  • Keep all records legible and in compliance with established methods.
  • Complete all additional tasks required by the Service Manager, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Perform shop porter duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • Valid CDL License (including valid medical card).
  • Willingness to participate in random drug screening as required by the D.O.T.
  • Willingness to attend off-site, job-related training classes.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, twist, balance and climb as needed.
  • Agricultural knowledge/experience is an asset.

  • Extremely organized with good time management skills.
  • Support company policies and values as outlined the Company Handbook.
  • Work the hours necessary to perform the job.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience with air brakes.
